Is your hotel equipped in any way to care for the needs of differently-abled guests?
✓Our hotel is very accessible considering our mountainous terrain and since we are constantly striving to improve, we do welcome suggestions and feedback. Please let us know your requirements in advance and we will make an effort to adapt to your needs.
✓We do have rooms 100% accessible and so is our restaurant, public bathrooms, pool and surrounding areas, and stables. Some of our adventure tours can be conditioned for guests with special needs, so please make sure to let us know in advance so we can make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Services
Which services are included in the room rate?
✓ Our hotel room rates include house breakfast and the use of recreative areas such as the pool, hot springs, volcanic mud and natural steam room. It does not include the applicable tax of 16.39%
The Roads
Do we need to have a 4x4 vehicle to get there?
✓You do not necessarily need to drive a 4x4 vehicle, but please keep in mind that one half of the trip to Hotel Borinquen is actually on a gravel road. However, we as well as other residents and users of the access road, do our best to keep it acceptable year-round. Of course, if you do have access to a 4x4 vehicle and the option to get in an adventurous mindset ahead of time, the 45 minute drive from Liberia to Hotel Borinquen can be quite enjoyable!
✓If you want to rent a car or would like to coordinate transportation from the Daniel Oduber International Airport or any other place, please let us know and we will make the necessary arrangements.
Internet Access
May I access the Internet from your Hotel?
✓We do offer Internet access to our guests in the Reception building. There is one computer available for your use as well as wireless connection if you bring your own computer. Our connection is dial-up, which means it is efficient although not high-speed, so we recommend you use it for basic tasks such as checking e-mail.

How far is the Daniel Oduber International Airport?
✓The International Airport in Liberia is about 40 kilometers from Hotel Borinquen. We do offer transportation service to and from the Airport, please contact our reservations department for more details.
Which airlines service the Daniel Oduber International Airport?
✓Local flights: Nature Air flies daily from San Jose and other cities into Liberia. Round trip fares average $180 and schedules can be seen in their website.
✓International flights: American Airlines (Miami, Dallas), Continental (Houston), Delta (Atlanta), Sky Service (Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver), North West (Atlanta), Us Airways, United Airlines and Charter Planes fly from different North American cities directly into Liberia.
What should I expect from the Daniel Oduber International Airport?
✓Although conveniently located and heavily visited by tourists from around the world, the LIR International Airport is a simple structure with humble facilities. The administration is currently making an effort to remodel and expand the terminal. In spite of it all, and as it usually happens in this surprising country full of contrasts, there is Wi-Fi available throughout the terminal.

How secure is the area?
✓Thanks to our location inside a very large cattle ranch and secluded setting, our premises are extremely secure. When you come to Hotel Borinquen you actually step into a different world.
Are there safe boxes available in the rooms?
✓Yes. All our rooms are equipped with digital safes to be used by our guests. There is no extra charge for the use of the safes.

Children
We are traveling with children, what facilities are there for us?
✓Our grounds are very exciting for children as they offer plenty of opportunities to explore, run and burn the energy accumulated during the trip. The adventure expeditions and the spa are all child-friendly. Our restaurant offers a children’s menu and is equipped with high-chairs for the smallest ones. Cradles are available for room upon request. If you think your children have any special needs we can help you with or if you would like us to hire you a nanny to help out during your visit, please let us know in advance and we will be glad to help.

Can we request an additional bed?
✓Yes, we do offer additional beds and cribs that can be placed in any of the rooms for an additional charge of $15.
What rates apply to our children?
✓Up to two children 12 years old and under included in our double occupancy rate. Additional children under 12 will be charged the additional child rate. Children over 12 will be charged the additional adult rate.
Pets
I am traveling with my pet. Can I bring it to Borinquen?
✓We are sorry, but due to the fact that Hotel Borinquen is actually inside the grounds of a farm in full production, we have been advised not to allow pets.
Additional Child/Adult Rates
There will be more than two adults staying in our double occupancy room. What rate applies to the additional guests?
✓The first two guests will be charged the double occupancy rate. The additional adults staying in the same room will be charged $35/night during the high season, $25/night during the green season or $55/night during the holiday season and will have access to the same services and conveniences as other guests. If your would like information for your particular case, please contact our reservations department.
Me and my husband will be traveling with our son age 11 and our nephew age 14 and we will be staying in the same room. What rate applies in our case? May we have an extra bed?
✓In your case your nephew will be subject to the additional adult rate of $35/night during the high season, $25/night during the green season or $55/night during the holiday season and will have access to the same services and conveniences as other guests. We can certainly arrange for an additional bed to be placed in your room. If your would like information for your particular case, please contact our reservations department.
We are a family of 5 with children ages 6, 8 and 10. What rates apply to us?
✓According to our current policy, two of the children will be included in the double occupancy rate and one of them will be charged the additional child rate of $25/night during the high season, $20/night during the green season or $30/night during the holiday season. Reservations and Cancelations
What do we need to make a reservation?
✓To book a reservation directly with our hotel you need to fill out our Reservations Form and provide us with a credit card number for confirmation. If you prefer to fax your credit card information, you can download and print-out the form and fax it to +506-690-1903 and if you experience any problem or have any question during the process please send us an email.
What is your cancellation policy?
✓Cancelled reservations will be handled in the following manner:
★Reservations cancelled at least 30 days before the scheduled date of arrival will not be subject to any penalty
★A 50% charge of the total reservation will be applied if cancellation takes place 30-21 days before scheduled arrival
★A 75% charge of the total reservation will be applied to cancellations that take place 21-7 days before scheduled arrival
★Reservations cancelled 0-7 days before the scheduled date of arrival will be charged in full as well as early departures
★No Shows will be charged with 100% of the reservation
★Different cancellation policies will apply for the Holiday Season. Please ask our reservations department.
Methods of Payment
What methods of payment are accepted, Credit Cards? US Dollars? Other Currencies? Traveler’s Checks?
✓We accept all major credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club and Discover, as payment for rooms, restaurant services, adventure expeditions, spa treatments and any other service you hire in our hotel. We will also accept US Dollars, Travelers Checks and Euros. You can exchange your foreign currency for colones at our front-desk.
Check-in and Check-out
What are your Check-in and Check-out hours
✓Our standard Check-in is 3:00 pm (15:00) and Check-out is 11:00 am. If requested in advance and subject to availability, we offer early check-in or late check-out. Please ask our reservations department.
Medical Services and Emergencies
Have you prepared emergency plans in case of emergencies?
✓We certainly have. We have prepared evacuation and response plans in case of natural disasters, fires, epidemics or other emergencies. Additionally, we have fire extinguishers and First Aid Kits throughout the premises.
✓If you or your companions have a known medical condition that you would like us to prepare for, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to adapt to your needs.
Are there nearby medical centers?
✓Yes, in Liberia there is a fully-staffed government Hospital with 4 ambulances as well as various private clinics.
✓We have established protocols for the care and transportation of sick or injured persons to the local hospital and the private clinics in the area.
Do you have back-up power supply and own water?
✓Yes we do have an emergency power supply system and are fortunate to have our own running drinking-quality spring water throughout the hotel.
